Rees Foundation and St Basils launch new partnership to help Bromsgrove care leavers

A NEW partnership was launched last Wednesday between care leaver charity Rees Foundation and St Basils.

The new venture is based at St Basil’s Bistro at the Pod, Humphrey Avenue in Charford.

St Basils works with young people aged 16 to 25 across the Midlands who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them to find and keep a home, develop their skills and prevent the chance of homelessness in the future.

The Rees Foundation has partnered with a number of community cafes across the country, as part of their mission to support care leavers and their latest collaboration is the perfect fit for the charity.

The Foundation was set up by Jan Rees OBE in 2013, a former foster carer, who had a vision to provide a support network for people leaving care.

The venue will provide a place where care experienced people can go along to get support and they can also sign up for a special card that entitles them to one free drink per day.

For more on the charity and the link up with the pod, check out reesfoundation.org orĀ  The Rees Foundation Facebook page.
