BROMSGROVE’S under-11 Girls claimed victory in their first game of the season after seeing off rivals Droitwich in a high-scoring clash.
It was touch and go that the fixture would go ahead due to the poor weather conditions but the sun came out at the right time and the match took place on the all weather pitch.
The established away side of Droitwich fielded first but the Bromsgrove girls batted with good awareness, posting a target of 326 runs in the pairs format game.
Jenny Fallows was star of the show for Bromsgrove, hitting an unbeaten 51 including six fours and four sixes.
With Droitwich now in bat, the girls bowled with good control and fielded with great skill and determination to limit their rivals to 318 runs to secure the win.
Bromsgrove’s next fixture is an away return match at Droitwich on Wednesday (July 13).
