STEVE Bellion claimed back-to-back wins at Alvechurch Fisheries after battling through extreme conditions to secure the Saturday Open.

With the wet weather sweeping across the Horseshoe Lake, most of the anglers set up waggler and feeder tactics in a bid to obtain some presentation.

And it was Bellion (peg 5) who came out on top once again as he went down this route with waggler and maggot cast tight to the rushes over a number of depths to net a few carp and stockies for 65lbs 9oz.

His nearest challenger was Warren Beach (peg 10) who started off on the pole and maggot before switching to the waggler and maggot up to the rushes for his mixed bag of 57lbs 7oz.

Rob Gandley (peg 36) came third with 53lbs 3oz after finishing two tactics up to the island and late down the margin with pole and caster.

Les Ayres (peg 6) fished small pellet feeder with maggot over a number of swims up to the island over a number of lines for 34lbs 9oz and fourth place while Ron Taylor (peg 18) finished inside the top five after landing 23lbs 5oz.
