A NEW post office will be officially opened at Vickys Convenience Store, Lickey End, next month.

From March 14, the new counter at the shop on Alcester Road, will be open 84 hours and 30 minutes across seven days a week – from 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 7.30pm Saturday and 7.30am to 3pm Sunday.

The branch will be one of the new open-plan, low-screened post office counters integrated into the store.

Gaynor Davies, the Post Office’s field change advisor, said: “We recognised the gap in our existing Post Office branch network and are delighted to be opening a brand new local branch, with extended opening hours and a Sunday service, to meet the needs of the community around Alcester Road.”

“We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.”

She added the new branch was part of the Post Office’s major investment programme, which was the largest in its history and would help secure a long-term future for the services offered.
