THE OPEN day held at Dodford Children’s Farm was hailed a great success after more than £1,400 was raised for the charity during the event.

There were a variety of activities on offer, including playing in the play barn, cream teas, a barbecue, countryside walks, a raffle and a tombola.

A lot of people who had not visited the venue before went along and local companies donated raffle prizes which the organisers were really grateful for.

Among them were The Dodford Inn, The Queens Head, Stoke Prior, The Slug and Lettuce, The New Inn, The Park Gate Inn, Benesserre Hair and and beauty, The Holiday Inn, Chennai Indian Restaurant, Sainsburys. Aldi, Morrisons, Speeds Cycles, Banners Butchers and more.

A spokeseperson said: “Luckily the weather was as kind to us as local businesses and individuals.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting the event.”
