A BRAND new community choir is inviting the people of Bromsgrove to ‘sing themselves healthy and happy’ at Aston Fields Middle School from 7.15pm to 9.30pm on April 14.

Got 2 Sing is an inspirational, contemporary community-based group of choirs spanning the West Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

The group aims to get as many residents as possible to join them for a free taster session at Aston Fields Middle School.

Members of the group train in vocal technique, harmony and performance.

Singing is said to increase oxytocin, which is also known as the love hormone.

It is also known for reducing anxiety and improving relaxation.

Choir leader Carrie Garrett said: “We’re not quite your typical ‘stand behind the music’ type of choir – we sing wonderful, uplifting songs, from pop to classics and musical theatre in at least three-part harmony and put some movement to the songs to bring them to life.”

She added: “There’s no need to read music or have any previous experience and no scary auditions so come and give it a try.”
