SIX GOALS from James Ward guided Millfield Rovers to a 12-2 victory over Rubery Athletic in the Bromsgrove and District League Premier Division.

The Fairfield Villa striker was star of the show with his double hat-trick while Shane Smith (3), Jack Connolly, David Cummings and Russell Morgan completed the home side’s scoring.

Nathan Ward netted inside a minute for Athletic before fellow striker Andy Court bagged a consolation.

Meanwhile goals from Sam Mckenzie, Will Tibbetts and Charlie Hanson secured a 3-0 win for Belbroughton Athletic at Pilkington Sunday.

A brace from Sam Wright and a 25-yard screamer from Joe Buckley secured Bromsgrove Athletico’s 3-0 victory at Quinton Athletic in Division One.

The other game in the division saw Oak Tree Sporting edge past Wychbold RBL 3-2.

Sporting went 2-0 ahead through James Gasson and Rory Milbourne before Wychbold pulled one back.

Paul Newman’s fine header then restored the hosts’ two-goal lead only for the visitors to score again to set up a tense finale.

Chaddesley Corbett Reserves are through to the final of the Rose Bowl following a 3-2 penalty shoot-out victory over Rubery Legends after the two sides played out a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes.

Gary Swain and Richard Ash scored for Corbett but strikes from Adam Doupe, Chris Gee and Jake Booton put Legends 3-2 up with ten minutes remaining.

But right at the death Ben McLoughlin equalised so send the tie to penalties where two saves from Corbett keeper Matthew Buckley ensured the hosts progressed.

There was heartache for Bartley Green Illey Sunday in the semi-finals of the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup as they lost 5-4 on penalties to Upton Snodsbury after playing out a 4-4 draw after extra-time.

Having come from behind four times through Connor Collins (3) and Michael Teji, BGIS’ hard work was undone in the shoot-out as they missed half of their eight penalties.

FC Highgate United also crashed out at the semi-final stage as they lost 4-1 at Worcester League Premier Division leaders Callow End.

Hizza United booked their place in the finals of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory over fellow Bromsgrove League outfit Sporting Club Redditch.

The two sides were locked at 4-4 after extra-time but penalty misses from Dan Sill and Harry Bedford proved costly for Redditch as United progressed.

Jordi Wells netted a brace for United with one each for Ash Parker and Harry Nicholls while Jay Gifford (3) and James Cope were on target for Redditch.

United will meet Clifton Rovers in the final as they ran out 9-3 winners over Bromsgrove Corinthians whose scorers were Alex Beck (2) and Ryan Molesworth.

In the sole Group B game of the Bromsgrove & Redditch Standard Shield, Chaddesley Corbett secured a 3-2 win at Rubery while in Group B of the Bridgwater Cup, Arrow Valley beat Stoke Works 5-0.
