BROMSGROVE triathletes Sam Boswell and Rachel Green raced at the Outlaw Half Nottingham held at the National Water Sports Centre.
The popular event attracts athletes from all over the country as well as abroad with around 1,400 crossing the finish line after a 1900 metre swim, 56-mile bike ride and half-marathon run.
Boswell placed first in her category in a time of five hours, five minutes and 14 seconds whilst Green finished sixth in her category in five hrs, 53 mins and 07 secs to knock 18 minutes off her personal best.
And Boswell is sponsored by Elliott Nash Ltd which was a huge help in allowing the athlete to return to racing.
Boswell said: “The run is lovely, being round the lake but this makes it quite exposed to any windy conditions.
“It’s been a long time since I have raced any where near this distance so I found the day hard going.”
Boswell and Green race triathlons of all distances and hope to continue racing this year and return to full Ironman in future with the latter racing Ironman Switzerland this July.
