DAN Sweeney has completed a move to Northern Premier League West Division leaders Macclesfield from Bromsgrove Sporting for an undisclosed fee.
Sweeney only joined the Rouslers from local rivals Redditch United in the summer and quickly became a fan favourite at the Victoria Ground having scored 14 league goals this season.
He was left out of the team for Sporting’s last three matches and has now completed a move to the Silkmen who claim to have beaten several teams to the 25-year-old’s signature.
Sporting released the following statement: “Following discussions between the two clubs last weekend, we have agreed a deal for the transfer of Dan Sweeney to Macclesfield FC.
“The necessary paperwork has been exchanged this week and Dan’s transfer has now been completed.
“We wish Dan all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts during his time with Sporting.”
