BROMSGROVE Sporting have confirmed the signing of former Redditch United striker Dan Sweeney as a spate of new additions try and offset the loss of several key players ahead of the new campaign.
Sporting announced the news of Sweeney’s arrival to much excitement amongst Sporting supporters having confirmed the return of former fan favourite Mike Taylor last week.
And Bromsgrove have further bolstered their ranks with the signing of former Cardiff City defender Ryan Price.
New sporting boss Thomas Baillie has also added Johno Atherton, previously of Chasetown and Walsall Wood, and Joe Curtis to his squad as well as George Forsyth and James Fry.
However, Sporting have lost key players Nathan Hayward (Supporters Player of the Season), Josh Quaynor (Players’ Player of the Season) and Josh Dugmore with the latter joining National League North side AFC Telford United.
Ollie Taylor, Aaron Clayton, Michael McGrath, Matthew Barnes-Homer, Miro Pais and Tom Taylor have all agreed to remain at the Victoria Ground next season.
The club have also released their pre-season schedule with matches against Tividale FC, Sporting Khalsa, Kidderminster Harriers, Hemel Hempstead, Stourport Swifts and Bedworth United.
Sporting will remain in the Southern League Premier Central division next season as they try and climb up the table having battled relegation for much of the previous campaign.
