BROMSGROVE Swimming Club’s Masters team came away with four medals at the Staffordshire Masters.
Abi Hughes, Talia Mitchell and Dan Young all took to the water at Stafford Leisure Centre with the latter pair both achieving medals.
Mitchell set a new personal best (PB) as she won gold in her age group in the 50-metre freestyle, finishing in under 29 seconds in the second fastest time overall.
And Hughes also medalled as she won silver in her age group in the 100-metre backstroke and 100-metre individual medley, in the third quickest time overall in the former, whilst also taking bronze in the 50-metre butterfly, setting a new PB in all three races.
Masters’ Coach Edd Mansell said: “It’s not very often I’m short of words, but I was left speechless by Abi’s incredible performance which was strong from start to finish.
“I am so happy for all three of them with the results they have worked so hard for.
“It was a pleasure attending the meet to support them, showing how competitive swimming can be great fun at any age!
“We all had a fantastic day and the 100% PB rate from when these members returned to the sport is a brilliant achievement!”
Young placed fourth in his age group in both of his races in the 50-metre butterfly and 50-metre breaststroke, setting a new PB in the former.
Mitchell also placed fourth in her age group in the 50-metre breaststroke, finishing half a second off her all time PB.
