BROMSGROVE Swimming Club took a record three swimmers to the Swim England Masters National Championships held at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

The national competition took place at the end of last month as Stuart Corbett, Abi Hughes and Talia Mitchell all produced strong performances across three days of action.

All three swimmers recorded personal best (PB) times in each of their respective races whilst Hughes won bronze in the 200 metre backstroke in the 25 to 29 -year-old age group.

Edd Mansell, Masters coach, said: “I am very proud of all the hard work and commitment that the squad have put into training and to see that translated into a successful national competition for us is fantastic.

“We are a growing part of Bromsgrove Swimming Club and have a great group of swimmers who enjoy training together.”

Matt Lowe, Head Coach, added: “We have always aspired to be an inclusive club, open to as many people as possible, who are passionate about swimming and with the growth of our Masters team we now have swimmers from ages five to 47 and hope to see this age range grow.”

Masters swimming is contested by swimmers aged 18 and above with Bromsgrove SC keen to encourage former competitors back into the pool.
