Studley Lions roar into second round of Kidderminster Hospital Minor Cup

STUDLEY Lions cruised into the second round of the Kidderminster Hospital Minor Cup with an emphatic 15-1 victory over Forest Rangers.

Lewis Smith and Jame Hatfield bagged four goals apiece while Marc Jovanic (3), Jamie Walsh (2), Nick Briggs and an own-goal completed their scoring.

Spa Athletic continued their winning streak after defeating Stour Celta Lions Reserves 2-0 thanks to goals from Luke Rainbow and Matt Winsper while FC Bromsgrove are through to round two after beating Withymoor 4-2.

Curtis Holdam (2), Mark Smith and Anthony Bate netted for Bromsgrove.




Rubery Legends enjoyed a 3-0 win at Mostyn Rangers Reserves courtesy of Chris Gee, Jamie Larner and Jahmel Trevis while Awkies Allstars lost 4-3 on penalties after they drew 2-2 with Spennell United after extra-time.

Christopher Fox and Matt Adams scored for Allstars.


Hizza United claimed a 7-1 victory over Royal Exchange Reserves, Stoke Prior were edged out 3-2 by Kingswinford AFC and Stoke Works lost 2-1 at Hasbury Colts.

Paul Halfpenny got on the scoresheet for Works.

Thomas Brothers booked their place in the second round of the Kidderminster Hospital Junior Cup with a 6-4 after extra-time victory over Sporting Club.

Meadow Park also needed extra-time as they beat King William 5-2 thanks to two goals from Liam Molesworth and one each for Rob Southwell, Jack Allerton and Matt Russell.

A hat-trick from Alex Mallen guided Belbroughton Athletic to a 6-0 win at Mostyn Rangers.

Will Tibbetts (2) and Connor O Reilly also netted.

Quinton Athletic edged past Netherton 3-2 courtesy of goals from Daniel Thompson, Kevin Heeley and Keil Sumnall while Wychbold RBL scraped past Lakeside United 2-1.

Brad Talbot hauled Wychbold level before Henry Davis scored the winner with a 20-yard volley.

Oak Tree Sporting are also through after they beat Wollaston Lions 5-3 while FC Highgate United lost 2-1 at Areley Kings despite taking the lead.

Brit Wollaston defeated Rubery Athletic 2-0, RedMen ran out 3-0 winners at Chaddesley Corbett while Stour Glassboys eased past FC Hope Pole 5-1.

In the Bromsgrove and District League Bridgwater Cup, four goals from Reece Miles helped Arrow Valley secure a 6-2 victory at Winyates in Group B.

Darryl King and Nick Rumbold also netted for Valley while Andy Squibb and Ben Rogers scored for the hosts.

Meanwhile in Group C, Redditch United Sunday enjoyed a 6-3 victory over Chaddesley Corbett Reserves.

Jake Wicketts (3), Jamie Sippitts (2) and Rob Beadle scored for United; Dan White (3) for Chaddesley.

Black Horse continue to lead the way in Group B of the Bromsgrove and Redditch Standard Shield following their 4-2 victory over Northfield Athletic while Bartley Green Illey Sunday enjoyed a 3-2 victory over Alcester Town in Group C.

Carl Martin (2) and Connor Collins netted for BGIS.

Elsewhere, Pilkington Sunday will meet Arrow Valley in the second round of the WA Harris Cup after edging past Bromsgrove Athletico 1-0.

Olly Birchall’s penalty was enough to separate the sides.

In Division Two, Sporting Club Redditch made it five wins out of five after beating Hewell 6-0.

Dan Sill netted a treble with Billy Garvey, Joe Shaw and Mal William also on target.

The other game in the division saw Callowbrook Swifts Green defeat AFC Northfield 3-1 thanks to goals from Dominic Strevens, Aiden Vaughan and Sam Pillinger.

In Division Three, Meadow Park Youth picked up their second win of the season after beating Bromsgrove Corinthians 5-2 courtesy of James Clayton’s brace and strikes from Oliver Rainsford, Xavier Symonds and Jamie Smith.

Meanwhile, Millfield Rovers Reserves picked up a 3-1 win at Bromsgrove Academicals.

Chris Lowe, Ethan King and Ash Roland were on target for Rovers while Nick baker netted a consolation for Academicals.
