THE STANDARD are delighted to announce it has become the title sponsor of the Bromsgrove and District Football League’s LMS Shield.

We have teamed up with tournament organisers to sponsor the cup, which will be renamed as The Bromsgrove/Redditch Standard Shield, for the very first time.

Four groups of five teams from the Premier Division and Division One battle it out in a round robin format before the winners and runners-up of their respective groups progress to the quarter-finals for the knock-out stages.

The first round of games commence on Sunday.

The final of the tournament, like all Bromsgrove League cup competitions, is played at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Victoria Ground after the end of the league season.

Tony Rees, vice-chairman of the Bromsgrove League, said: “We are delighted to have a strong local publication on board as sponsors for our newly re-branded LMS Shield.

“We hope the relationship between ourselves and the Bromsgrove and Redditch Standards continues in the future and we wish all the teams entered for this year’s competition the best of luck.”
