WILL Tanner’s 18-point individual haul inspired Bromsgrove RFC to a bonus point 33-26 home win against Burton.
Tanner crossed for the Boars first two tries and added eight points from the kicking tee while Drew Harper, George Meader and Josh Holt all touched down at Finstall Park.
And the result means Bromsgrove sit third in the Regional 1 Midlands table after securing a fifth successive victory.
The Boars broke the deadlock on 29 minutes when Tanner finished off a fine move after excellent work from Ed Spalding and George Amphlett.
And Tanner doubled his try tally for the game shortly before half time after he outpaced the last defender and dotted down in the corner before converting his own try.
However, Burton kept themselves in the game with an unconverted try on the stroke of half time.
The Boars responded with two tries at the start of the second half as Harper and Meader both touched down to secure a bonus point.
And Holt extended Bromsgrove’s lead with a try under the posts after exchanging passes with Amphlett before Burton rallied late on with three tries in the final 10 minutes.
Bromsgrove are next in action away at Stourbridge on Saturday, March 23 with kick-off at 3pm at Stourton Park.
