RUGBY UNION - Sadler treble inspires Boars to bonus point win

TOM Sadler’s hat-trick inspired Bromsgrove RFC to a 31-19 bonus point home win against Kenilworth RFC.

Sadler scored the Boars first try before touching down twice in the second half as Nathan Fisher also crossed and Will Harris provided a fine 11-point haul at Finstall Park.

The result means Bromsgrove sit fifth in the Regional 1 Midlands table.

Harris kicked an early penalty before Sadler’s first try put the Boars into an eight-point lead only for Kenilworth to hit back with a try of their own.

And Harris kicked another penalty to extend Bromsgrove’s lead before he added the extras to Fisher’s try as the Boars led by 13 points at the break.

Bromsgrove raced out of the blocks in the second period as Sadler completed his hat-trick with two early tries to take the game out of Kenilworth’s reach.

Despite two further Kenilworth tries, a late Harris penalty put the seal on a fine Bromsgrove victory.

Bromsgrove are next in action away at Lichfield on Saturday, November 12 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Cooke Fields.
