BROMSGROVE RFC started the year with a 35-19 defeat in a top of the table clash against Bridgnorth to suffer back-to-back losses in the league for the first time this season.
Rich Hance’s try put Bromsgrove into the lead in the first half only for the home side to edge 15-13 ahead at the interval.
And Bromsgrove were unable to recover from that deficit as two late tries took the game away from the Boars to leave the visitors empty handed.
The result means Bromsgrove are now fourth in the Midlands Premier table, five points behind leaders Bridgnorth with a game in-hand.
The fixture was the Boars first competitive match since December 11 last month and the club turns 150-years-old this year.
Bromsgrove are next in action at home to Broadstreet on Saturday, January 15 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Bromsgrove Rugby Club.
