BROMSGROVE RFC romped to a 61-19 nine-try bonus point victory against struggling Dudley Kingswinford to return to winning ways.

The Boars held a nine-point lead at the break before blowing their opponents away with a clinical second-half performance at Finstall Park.

Both Steve Leach and Tom Mitchell crossed twice while Ben Tibbetts, Thomas Cubitt, Jamie Constantine, Nathan Fisher and Jordan Maddocks all dotted down for the Boars.

The result means Bromsgrove sit fourth in the Regional 1 Midlands table, level on points with Stourbridge in third.

Dudley caught Bromsgrove napping early on to score the game’s first try in the opening few minutes.

However, tries from Mitchell, Leach and Tibbetts put the Boars in command as the home scored 21 unanswered points.

The visitors kept themselves in the contest with a try shortly before half time to close the gap to nine points.

However, the Boars crossed for six second-half tries as Leach and Mitchell both dotted down again along with Cubitt, Constantine, Fisher and Maddocks.

And Rhys Williams converted eight of the home side’s nine tries to add 16 points from the kicking tee.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Lichfield on Saturday, March 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Cooke Fields.
