BROMSGROVE RFC lost further ground on their title rivals after they slipped to a 30-15 defeat away at eighth-placed Burton.
The Boars touched down through Ed Krawiecki, Tom Sadler and Rich Hance as Bromsgrove suffered their fourth consecutive defeat on their travels.
And the result leaves Bromsgrove down in sixth place in the Midlands Premier table, trailing leaders Newport (Salop) by 13 points.
Burton were vastly improved from the side that was comprehensively beaten 57-27 by the Boars earlier in the season and raced into an 18-0 lead.
Krawiecki’s try just before half-time gave Bromsgrove hope only for Sadler’s score to come in-between two more Burton tries.
Hance touched down to score a consolation try for the Boars late on but it proved too little too late as their away day struggles continued.
Bromsgrove are next in action at home to Sheffield on Saturday, February 5 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Bromsgrove Rugby Club.
