RUGBY UNION - Bromsgrove nil Paviors as Trumper scores hat-trick

WILL TRUMPER ran in a hat-trick of tries as Bromsgrove thrashed Paviors 43-0 to secure their first win on the road since November.

Trumper’s hat-trick was added to by tries from Connah Jones, Nathan Fisher and Billy Grant as the Boars eased to a bonus point victory at The Ron Rossin Ground.

The result means Bromsgrove sit fifth in the Midlands Premier table after claiming back-to-back wins for the first time this year.

Bromsgrove raced into an early lead when Connah Jones stretched for the line on five minutes to score his first try of the season after Ross Attwood broke the line with Will Harris converting.

And the visitors struck again soon after when Trumper gathered the ball on the wing before cutting inside and outpacing the opposition to score underneath the posts with Harris adding the extras.

Harris kicked a penalty to extend Bromsgrove’s lead before Trumper went over for his second try in the corner before the half an hour mark.

And the away side scored their bonus point try shortly before the break when Fisher broke two tackles before dotting down under the posts to grab his first ever Bromsgrove try.

Trumper completed his hat-trick in the second half, his second treble in the space of four matches, when he finished off a fine team move.

And the Boars added some gloss to the scoreline with the last play of the game when Grant crossed in the corner with Harris converting to seal a comfortable win.

Bromsgrove play their last home game of the season at home to Sandbach on Saturday, April 9 with kick-off at 3pm at Finstall Park.
