BROMSGROVE RFC were involved in another high-scoring affair as the Boars were edged out 43-37 in a try fest at Bridgnorth.
The visitors crossed four times to come away with a try-bonus point and losing bonus point from the contest.
Callum Megram scored twice whilst Adam Whiteman and Will Trumper also touched down in a narrow six-point defeat at the Edgar Davis Ground.
The result means Bromsgrove sit sixth in the Regional 1 Midlands table after three matches.
Bridgnorth scored two converted tries inside the first five minutes to leave Bromsgrove stunned.
However, the Boars responded with a powerful driving maul towards the Bridgnorth line before Whiteman took a quick tap penalty to score with Will Harris adding the extras.
And just two minutes later Megram charged down a kick and collected the loose ball before racing 80-metres to score with Harris’s conversion bringing the scores level in an extraordinary opening quarter of an hour.
Harris kicked two penalties before the half was out, in-between an unconverted Bridgnorth try and penalty, as Bromsgrove trailed by a single point at the interval.
And Bridgnorth struck again straight from the restart before Bromsgrove hit back through Megram’s second try of the afternoon underneath the posts.
The home side reclaimed the lead with another converted try before Trumper secured a bonus point for Bromsgrove with his side’s fourth try after a fine break from Ed Spalding with Harris adding the extras.
And another Harris penalty extended Bromsgrove’s lead only for Bridgnorth to cross for two further tries but crucially missed both conversion attempts to ensure the Boars came away with a losing bonus point.
