BROMSGROVE RFC ended their league campaign with a narrow 25-21 home defeat against Nuneaton RFC.
The Boars ran in three tries as Ben Tibbetts, Tom Cubitt and George Meader all crossed as the home side came away from Finstall Park with a losing bonus point.
Bromsgrove had already secured a third-place finish in the Regional 1 Midlands table prior to the final game of the season.
With defences seemingly on top for large parts of the first half, the game burst into life when Nuneaton scored two tries in as many minutes to leave the home side stunned.
However, Tibbetts dotted down under the posts for the Boars before the break only for Nuneaton to kick a penalty on the stroke of half time.
And Nuneaton kicked another penalty early in the second half to stretch their lead to 13 points only for Cubitt to cross for Bromsgrove’s second try.
However, Nuneaton responded with a try of their own and Meader touched down for the Boars to close the gap to four points.
And the home side thought they had completed the turnaround when Tom Sadler scored in the corner only for the touch judge to raise his flag for a foot in touch.
With neither team able to trouble the scoreboard further, Bromsgrove’s league season ended in defeat.
