A 23-POINT haul from Rhys Williams inspired Bromsgrove RFC to a thrilling 38-34 bonus point victory away at Stourbridge.
Williams, Ben Tibbetts, Will Parkes and Ellis Jenkins all crossed for tries for the Boars who claimed a first win at Stourton Park in 13 years.
And Williams added an impressive 18 points from the kicking tee which proved decisive come the final whistle.
The result means Bromsgrove sit third in the Regional 1 Midlands table, seven points behind leaders Bournville who have a game in hand.
The Boars raced into an 11-point lead courtesy of a try from Williams who also kicked two penalties.
However, Stourbridge responded with three quickfire tries to stun Bromsgrove.
The visitors hit back before the break when Tibbetts dotted down on the stroke of half time as Williams’ successful conversion reduced the deficit to three points at the interval.
Bromsgrove drew level at the start of the second half when Williams kicked a penalty before Parkes forced his way over to score the away side’s third try.
Stourbridge responded with a penalty of their own only for Jenkins to peel off the back of a rolling maul to score Bromsgrove’s bonus point try.
The two teams exchanged penalties as Williams took his individual haul to 23 points as Stourbridge scored a late try to secure two bonus points from the fixture.
Bromsgrove are next in action away at Newent on Saturday, February 28 with kick-off at 2.15pm at the Recreation Ground.
