FINN Haynes scored two tries as Bromsgrove RFC secured a 34-25 bonus point win against league champions Oxford Harlequins.

Haynes crossed twice in the first half while Alex Wilkinson and Nathan Fisher also dotted down to secure an impressive victory at Finstall Park.

The result means Bromsgrove sit third in the Regional 1 Midlands table with one match left to play.

A near-perfect first-half display helped the Boars seal a fine win as Will Tanner slotted an early penalty to put the home side ahead.

And tries from Wilkinson, Fisher and two from Haynes, all converted by Tanner, put the Boars in command at the break.

However, Oxford showed their title-winning credentials in the second half and clawed their way back into the game only for a late Tanner penalty to deny the visitors a losing bonus point.

The victory means the Boars have secured a third place finish this season.

Bromsgrove finish the campaign at home to Old Halesonians on Friday, April 12 with kick-off at 7.30pm at Finstall Park.
