JOSH Holt scored two tries either side of half time as Bromsgrove RFC secured a bonus point 37-24 victory which relegated bottom of the table Nuneaton.

Holt’s double came after Tom Sadler touched down inside the first minute before Jack Medley and Rich Hance both crossed whilst Will Harris kicked four penalties at Liberty Way.

The result means Bromsgrove sit third in the Regional 1 Midlands table ahead of their final fixture of the season this weekend although the two teams below them have two games in hand.

And the Boars raced out of the blocks as Sadler scored the game’s first try inside 60 seconds to ensure the visitors made the perfect start although the conversion was missed.

However, Nuneaton hit back with three tries of their own whilst Will Harris kicked three penalties and Holt crossed for his first try of the afternoon to send the Boars into the break with a two-point lead.

The visitors showed their class in the second period as Holt grabbed his second try of the game and Harris kicked his fourth penalty to put Bromsgrove in command.

And Boars substitute Medley then crossed for a debut try only for Nuneaton to respond with their own bonus point score as Hance sealed victory for Bromsgrove when he bulldozed through the home defence late on.

Bromsgrove host Oundle on Saturday, March 11 in their final league fixture of the season with kick-off at 3pm at Finstall Park.
