OLD Bromsgrovians were on the wrong end of a 54-47 scoreline against Worcester Netball Club Jade’s on Monday at Tudor Grange, proving their second loss of the Worcester Netball League Premier Division.
Having received a loss for being unable to fulfil their fixture with Zodiac a week previously, the Canons were fired up to get back to winning ways.
Both sides went goal for goal in the opening stages, with Bromsgrove narrowly finding themselves ahead at the close of the first quarter.
They found some momentum in the second quarter, and began to build a solid lead approaching half-time, but the Jade’s were not to take a deficit lightly, and bounced back after the interval.
Making use of some tactical substitutions, Worcester then began to control proceedings, going in front before pulling away in the third and fourth quarters of the game to win.
Bromsgrove’s defensive duo of Helen Reilly and Bea Lee were notably impressive throughout, whilst Brogan Adams – named player of the match, was a force in the centre of the court.
Old Bromsgrovians next meet Malvern Springs – a side who currently top the division with two wins and a loss – in less than two weeks time, on Monday June 3 (7pm).
The club are always on the lookout for new players, and urge any interested players to get in touch via the club’s Facebook page – ‘OB Netball (Bromsgrove)’.
