Old Bromsgrovians Bullets lose out to league leaders but impress in Redditch Netball League

OLD Bromsgrovians Bullets lost out to CBH Ladies in a hotly-contested fixture in the Redditch Netball League Division 2, going down 48-31 on Tuesday night.

The Bullets are still searching for their opening points of the season, sitting bottom of the league at present after five games played, and looked unlikely to change that record when going five goals down in the early stages of the first quarter.

Going into the second quarter, Bromsgrovians looked to have adjusted to the level of their opponents, and began to force more turnovers and recover a number of rebounds – although CBH continued to find goals.

At the half-time break, OB rotated a number of players, opting for additional height in attack.

The girls began to open up their opponents more often, making full use of the space on the court to halve the deficit in the final quarter of the game, but they were unable to fully match their opponents on the day.

Becky Alton was named player of the match for her display in both defence and attack, and linked well with Maisie Cook at the back – who were always going to be up against it facing the joint leaders at the top of the league.

The Bullets are next in action on Tuesday June 5, when they visit Blackbird Divas.

Old Bromsgrovians are always on the lookout for players to join the Canons and Bullets sides – which play in the Worcester and Redditch leagues respectively.
