A RACING driver from Bromsgrove has won a prestigious title by a single point in an exciting finale at Silverstone.
Jordan Pimley won the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Clubman Championship by the slimmest of margins in a dramatic end to the season.
Pimley finished third in race one and also posted the fastest lap before finishing second in race two and again producing the fastest lap to take home the Clubman Championship trophy.
The Bromsgrove driver overturned a seven-point deficit to come away with the title as the season came down to the last lap of the final race.
Pimley said: “I’m a bit lost for words while this is all still sinking in but I cannot thank everyone enough for the work this year.
“All of my brilliant sponsors. I could not afford to go racing without the huge support each and every one of them has provided this year, from the bottom of my heart I thank you all.
“In the very first year as an established team, The Mechanics 347 have run like clockwork and provided the best atmosphere in the paddock, welcoming family and guests with open arms all year.
“Plus working tirelessly to give me a mighty fast race car. We started as a team and we are now friends for life.
“I’d also like to thank everyone that I’ve raced against this year, specifically Jack Warry, Jonathan Greensmith, Jake Paice and Paul Simard.
“You’ve all pushed me much harder than I could’ve imagined all year and made the championship one hell of a great battle.
“I don’t yet know what the future holds, but one thing is for sure, if it’s as fun as this year, then I’m already dying to get started.”
