Molyneux bags seven as Avenue thump Sporting Club Redditch 10-4 in BRS Shield

JAMIE MOLYNEUX bagged seven goals as Avenue maintained top spot in Group B of the Bromsgrove & Redditch Standard Shield with a 10-4 victory over Sporting Club Redditch.

Aaron Roberts (2) and David Delaney completed Avenue’s scoring while Joe Shaw (3) and Adam Thornton were on target for Redditch.

Chaddesley Corbett moved up to second with a 3-2 success over Hawthorns, thanks to Joshua Cowdell-Jones’ double and strike from Ricky Cowdell.

Hizza United moved up to second in Group A of the Bridgwater Cup as Martin Young’s double fired them to a 6-2 victory over Rubery Legends while Chaddesley Ravens made it three wins out of three in Group C after beating Hewell 5-0.




There was one game in Bromsgrove League Division Four where Redditch Borough picked up their first win of the season after edging past AFC Norton 1-0.

Sam Wright hit a hat-trick for Bromsgrove Athletico who booked their place in the second round of the Worcester Nursing Junior Cup with a 4-3 after extra-time victory over The Gloster Arms.


Tom Trow-Poole hit the winner after the two sides were locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes.

Pilkington Sunday progressed with a 7-2 victory over Wychbold RBL, courtesy of goals from Dayle Kenny (2), Daniel Douse (2), Junior Hewitt, Sam Collins and Josh McGinley.

There was disappointment for Quinton Athletic though, as they bowed out of the cup with a crushing 5-1 defeat to Drakes Broughton Rangers.

Millfield Rovers are through to the next round of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup after defeating Warndon Villages 6-3.

Brandon Dews (2), Stuart Hatfield (2), Ash Roland and Ryan Wood with the goals for Rovers.

Spa Athletic booked their place in round two with a convincing 7-0 win at Worcester City Wanderers.

Josh Winsper and namesake Matt bagged braces while Luke Rainbow, Dale Gurney and Kev Owens completed Spa’s scoring.

Jay Wright hit a double in Arrow Valley’s 4-1 win at Pershore Town Eagles and Dave Phelan netted twice in Winyates’ 2-1 after extra-time win at Bromsgrove Corinthians.
