THERE was double delight for Bromsgrove School with two of its students claiming medals in the under-15 boys’ event at the Worcestershire County Multi-Events Championships.
The competition took place at The Ryland Centre in Bromsgrove where Louis Upton (Year 8) and Oliver Brown (Lower 4th) had a fantastic tussle for first place.
Both students were neck and neck in all five events of long jump, shot put, high jump, 80 metres hurdles and the 800m.
When all the points were added up, Upton pipped Brown to the gold medal by just 50 points.
Gareth Jones, head of boys’ PE and games at the school, said: “Both of these Bromsgrove students deserve enormous praise for battling with the elements and still putting in great performances.
“For these athletes to be both the gold and silver medal winners throughout the county deserves huge congratulations.”
