Meadow Park end season in style

FOOTBALL: Meadow Park FC Under-14s ended a long and hard season by picking up the Worcestershire FA County Youth Development League Cup following a hard fought 1-0 win over Newtown Sports.

The Bromsgrove boys controlled the opening exchanges and took the lead with a wonder strike from Terrel Jeffers but their resolve was to be tested.

After a mammoth season, Park’s squad of 15 was carrying no fewer than six injured players so when midfield dynamo Harri Genner left the field on 18 minutes with a badly sprained ankle, things didn’t look too promising.

Park dug deep and showed tremendous heart, stifling the Newtown attacks for skipper Joe Green to lift the trophy for the second year running.

Meadow Park are looking for players to add to the squad that finished in the top half of the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League Premier Division as well as reaching the Worcestershire FA County Cup final. If you are currently in year 9 at school and think you have got what it takes then contact Phil Green on 07934 440249 or email [email protected] to arrange a trial/attend training.
