Kelly delighted by Soleman transfer

BRENDAN Kelly says Sporting’s latest arrival Aram Soleman chose the Victoria Ground as his new home despite offers from clubs at a higher level.

The 20-year-old versatile forward, formerly of West Bromwich Albion and Solihull Moors, joins from National League North side Guiseley, and puts pen-to-paper after a successful trial period at the club.

Soleman is labelled as an “extremely hard” worker and “technically very good” by his new manager, who was the first to sing the new boy’s praises.

“Aza has a huge array of talent and qualities that will cause teams problems,” said Kelly.

“I’m delighted to have secured him, as he had many options to choose from, including levels above.

“He has been training hard and playing well in the friendlies he has featured in, so it’s a good signing for us.

“He’s young, hungry and raring to go. I think the Sporting faithful will definitely enjoy watching more of him.”

It makes it two signings in the space of the week for the Rouslers, after St. Lucia international defender Melanius Mullarkey joined Bromsgrove over the weekend from Northern Premier League outfit Ilkeston Town.
