INSIDE VIEW - Robbie Bunn's Bromsgrove Sporting column

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Feb, 2018   0

Bromsgrove Sporting midfielder Robbie Bunn writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on a miserable day at Thatcham but a bounceback win at Stourport.

SATURDAY was a terrible day for everyone involved at the club.

After all was said and done, we were just well below our usual standards and simply not good enough on the day.

All that can be said about Saturday is that it’s a chance that’s gone begging. We, as players, know we weren’t good enough and now we need to focus our minds back onto league action and make sure we pick up as many points as possible.

Tuesday’s cup tie at Stourport Swifts gave us a great chance to put Saturday’s disappointment behind us and get back to winning games. I felt we were in control of the game for large parts and in the end deserved to get through to the final later on in the season.

On a personal note it’s great to be playing injury free now and getting my fitness and sharpness back to where they need to be.

Obviously it’s great to be back on the score sheet again but as I’ve already said it was vital we got the victory and that was what we did.

A huge thank-you again needs to be given to our outstanding fans who travelled over on Saturday for the Vase and also possibly more importantly to the fans who travelled to Stourport on Tuesday as they are the ones who support the side through thick and thin and are there week in, week out.
