Bromsgrove Sporting’s Richard Gregory writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on the previous two weeks and looking ahead to Saturday’s renewed rivalry with Peterborough Sports.
I HOPE everyone’s had a good week after the weekend off.
Last Saturday felt different without a game to play, but with the injuries and knocks that we’ve picked up, I’m sure the free week has done us good as we can prepare fully for Saturday.
Our last league game ended in an 8-0 win over Leiston which was great, I was especially pleased for Mikey again with his second hat-trick for the club as he is continuing to show us what he’s all about with his power and pace.
I’m also pleased for Millsy with his hat-trick as well, I’m sure that it’s a sign of better things to come from these two as they’ve certainly made us ruthless in front of goal in recent weeks.
Unfortunately for Shozza [Will Shorrock], the cameraman wasn’t there as he put his goal straight to number one as a goal of the season contender with a touch of class.
I was also personally very happy to get on the scoresheet, although my time didn’t last long as I pulled up with a slight hamstring pull.
Looking ahead to the Peterborough game, who are a rival of ours and also came up with us last season, have, like us, started very well.
They have a good side there and a good manager in Jimmy Dean who’s taking the club in the right direction.
They’ve scored lots of goals like we have, so it’s all in place to be a cracker on Saturday.
I hope to see as many Sporting fans there as possible.
