Bromsgrove Sporting’s Richard Gregory writes for The Standard in his weekly column, reflecting on recent results against Redditch United and Kings Langley and looking ahead to the Coalville encounter.
SATURDAY saw us lose our first game since mid-November, bringing an end to our unbeaten run which was obviously disappointing.
We didn’t really turn up on the day. Kings Langley were better and wanted it more than us.
But we had to just forget about the result as quickly as possible. We couldn’t be too harsh on ourselves after a really good run. It’s always a shame for that to come to an end but you can’t win every match in this league and you are going to lose games.
It’s important how you bounce back, and luckily for us we had the chance to put things right on Tuesday night against Redditch.
Obviously they were struggling in the league going into it and have lost a number of games consecutively.
But it was a match that we needed and was a great result to score seven. The goal that we conceded was the only disappointment on the night but it was still a good way to bounce back.
The lads are hard at work in training looking forward to the Coalville game on Saturday. They’re right up there and have aspirations of making the play-offs themselves, so it’s going to be a tough game.
It was a tight one back in August and will be the same on Saturday, and I hope the fans will be there in their numbers at the Victoria Ground to cheer us on.
