Hogan claims third overall for BRAC in Gloucestershire Cross Country League finale

SALLY HOGAN claimed second place on the day and third overall as the Gloucestershire Cross Country League came to a conclusion at Pittville Park in Cheltenham on Saturday.

Hogan’s effort led the way for Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club, for whom the ladies raced on a 6.4km course.

Helen Russell was 49th, Miriam Strbakova 90th and Dagmar Prinzing 97th and 11th over 45 as the ladies finished 14th out of 34 complete teams.

There were also prizes for several of the club’s male runners, who raced over a 9.3km course.




Leading the B&R charge was Mark Appleton in 35th place as he finished ninth overall.

Ian Keyte was 50th and second overall in the over 55 category and Phil Richardson 107th and overall winner of the over 60 event.


Ian Nutter came 142nd and seventh overall in the over 55s and Phil Anderson 164th and eighth overall in the over 55 category.

The men’s team finished 15th overall and the masters team seventh overall.

The next cross country fixture for club members is Saturday’s Saucony National Cross Country Championships in the beautiful grounds of Wollaton Park in Nottingham.
