Highgate Dynamos and Austin Ex Apprentices safely through to FA Sunday Cup third round

THERE was joy for Bromsgrove & District League sides in the FA Sunday Cup as Highgate Dynamos and Austin Ex Apprentices booked their place in round three.

Dynamos cruised to a 4-0 victory over Enderby Social, thanks to goals from Ricardo Richards, Orrin Pendley, Evander Beckford and Martin Crawford, while Will Parker and Liam Spink bagged the goals in Austin’s 2-0 win at Halfway FC.

BGIS Fairfield’s game against OJM was postponed but the tie has been re-arranged for this Sunday.

AFC Northfield put their name in the hat for the next round of the WA Harris Cup after running out 3-1 winners at Red Lion.




Callum Debar, Matt Seeley and Richard Maguire were on target for the visitors.

Chaddesley Corbett eased into the next stage with the 7-1 defeat of Arrow Valley while AFC Norton eased to a 4-1 success at Royal Eagles.


Jason Gibbons struck four times as Awkies Allstars overcame Spa Athletic 7-1 to reach the Centenary Cup semi-finals.

Jim Carnihan, Ash Tullett and Kurt Hoban also netted in the big win.

Bromsgrove Corinthians are also through to the last four after beating Redditch United Sunday 7-3.

Alex Beck (3), Ed Tear, Ben Hewitt, Tom Mason and Ben Kavanagh got on the scoresheet for Corinthians.

Rubery Legends cemented top spot in Group A of the Bridgwater Cup following their 5-3 win at Bromsgrove Academicals, thanks to goals from Jahmel Trevis (2), Morgan Trevis, Adam Doupe and Jake Booton.

Hizza United are up to third as Harry Nicholls’ hat-trick fired them to a 6-2 victory over Crown Athletic.

Mike Young, Ash Parker and Josh Bowen completed United’s scoring while Karl Walford bagged both of Athletic’s goals.

Meanwhile, Chaddesley Ravens and Catshill drew 1-1 in Group C.

In a six-goal thriller at Charford Recreation Ground, Bromsgrove Athletico and Pilkington Sunday shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw in Group A of the Bromsgrove & Redditch Standard Shield.

Sam Wright, Tom Keogh and Connor Cashmore were on target for Athletic.

Black Horse boosted their chances of reaching the quarter-finals after running out 4-1 winners over Sporting Grapevine in Group C.

Jack Brimmell (2), Chris Whittaker and Daniel Sutton with the goals.

Elsewhere, Kings Norton Sporting are safely through to the third round of the Worcester Nursing Minor Cup as they secured a 6-3 success at Droitwich Spa Eagle Reserves.
