AVONCROFT head into their final fixture of the season against Old Hill Seconds on Saturday (12.30pm) looking to build on a straightforward nine-wicket win at Pershore Seconds.

After dismissing the hosts for just 89 from 33 overs, The Croft secured victory in the 15th over – their seventh win of the season in Worcestershire County League Division Three.

Pershore’s torrid afternoon began by losing openers Nao Heywood (8) and Todd Charlton (0) cheaply, before Jonathan Hunter (3-20) struck with three quick dismissals.

Ben Warwick (2-14) then took a couple of wickets to diminish Pershore’s chances further, with Tom Murray taking a couple of catches from tailenders David Jessop (13) and Jason Brown (9) to end the hosts’ innings.

Avoncroft stormed towards victory, thanks to openers Jonty Heslop (51) and Matthew Palmer (19no), with the latter going unbeaten to bat the visitors to victory.
