Green snap up Bears ace for title push

A RAFT of incomings at Barnt Green and Droitwich Spa have underlined the intent of both sides ahead of their forthcoming league campaigns.

The Green have strengthened their planned assault on the Birmingham & District Premier Division One title, bringing in Harry Bates and Adam Hose.

Twenty-one year-old Bates has come through the system at Loughborough MCC University and is renowned for his bowling ability, whilst Hose, 28, has become a one-day specialist for Warwickshire since making the move to Edgbaston in 2017.

The duo will be tasked with helping Barnt Green improve on a third-placed finish during the last-full campaign in 2019, and a Graham Williamson Trophy success last term.

Meanwhile, the ink has dried on a number of deals at Droitwich, with no less than three new faces set to step out at St Peter’s Fields in the 2021 season.

Leg-spinner Jake Young, middle-order batsman Connor Grant and former junior player Callam Turner have all returned to the Worcestershire County Division One club after spending time away – the latter having played for Falmouth whilst studying in the south-west of the country.
