Good workout for Bromsgrove Sporting and their triallists as Studley are sank 3-0

BROMSGROVE Sporting had a good workout last night, beating Studley 3-0 away from home.

The Rouslers fielded a number of trialists against a useful side – now managed by former Sporting’s former assiatant Andy Mason – at the Studley Sports and Social Club, Eldorado Close

There was little between the two sides for the first 25 minutes and the home side could have taken the lead on the 19th minute but for a good low save from Max Beardmore. Sporting though gradually began to dictate the game and could have taken the lead on the 33rd minute following a fine pass down the left from Jack Wilson to a ‘Player C’ whose subsequent shot just went wide of the left-hand post.

However, three minutes later there was no mistake when Wilson this time threaded a pass through the Studley defence to Player C who slid his shot beautifully into the middle of the net.

The Bees could have equalised just before half-time but a good header just went over the crossbar.

Both teams made a number of changes after the interval and there appeared to be more fluency to Sporting’s play and that was rewarded with another goal on the 58th minute when the home defence failed to clear and Jack Hallahan tapped home the loose ball.

With 65 minutes gone there was a golden opportunity for Studley to get back into the match following a handball in the Rouslers’ penalty area but the resultant spot kick was blasted over the bar.

Just two minutes later and Sporting put the game well beyond their opponents when the lively Miro Pais fired a 25-yard screamer in off the post from a narrow angle.

Former Rousler Alfie Bloomer put a useful free kick just over the bar for the home team and Pais had another effort that went begging but there was no further change to the scoreline and the match ended with a 3-0 win for the Bromsgrove side.
