LILI-ROSE Hunt, who attends Bromsgrove School, has earned a place in England Golf’s women’s squad for the 2023/24 season.
Hunt is one of nine players in the squad alongside Jess Baker, Rosie Belsham, Sophia Fullbrook, Isla McDonald-O’Brien, Nellie Ong, Mimi Rhodes, Patience Rhodes and Lottie Woad.
The Bromsgrove School student is a newcomer to the national programme following an impressive 2023 campaign.
Hunt finished as runner-up in the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and helped England girls’ win the Home Internationals competition.
And the 18-year-old also finished in the top-20 of all 10 World Amateur Golf Ranking qualifying events last year including the ANNIKA Invitational.
Performance Manager for women’s golf, Becca Hembrough, said: “Coming off the back of a very exciting year for the women’s squad and players, we’re looking forward to continuing to support and challenge these women with a view to future success at World and European Team Championships for England, and individual achievements across the amateur game and onto the professional stage.
“The new UK-based squad enables us to have a greater impact on players who could transition into women’s England teams in those big events, and the US-based squad remains very strong with all five players contributing to women’s team success in 2023 and inside the world top 170.”
