DARRELL WILLIAMS has taken over as Barnt Green’s new skipper after Andy Sutton stood down after six years in the role.

Sutton will become vice-captain for the Birmingham League side and will be giving his backing to Williams.

“I am proud to have captained this club for the last six years,” said Sutton.

“To see young Barnt Green CC players move into professional cricket and shine also makes me very proud to be a part of their development.”

Meanwhile, Barnt Green’s squad for 2019 will include several new signings.

James Rudge, Henry Marshall, and Dom Harding have joined the Cherry Hill Road club, while Australian Adam Amin will be their overseas player.

Top order batsman Amin arrives from Melbourne side Monash Tigers for his first season overseas.

Harding, a middle-order batter, joins from Knowle & Dorridge CC following five seasons at K&D.

Rudge makes the move from Tamworth after registering 37 wickets last season, and fellow seamer Marshall arrives from Bromsgrove. The medium pacer is a Worcestershire Under-17s player.
