A FORMER Barnt Green Primary School pupil is hoping to keep up her good run of form for England’s under-16s rounders team when they face Wales in two international friendlies later this summer.

Imogen Sinclair, vice-captain and opening batter for England, has switched to her summer sport after guiding Aston Villa Ladies to the FA Girls’ Midlands U16 League title earlier this year.

And she is hoping to add to her 58 rounders already this season when England take on the Welsh on Sunday, July 16 and Sunday, August 20.

The 16-year-old, who has competed in five festivals for her country this summer, said: “I am very lucky to play for England, especially in such a great team.

“The bowler, back-stop and first post triangle work so well that when I bat the pressure is off and I just go and enjoy myself.”

Imogen’s sporting summer does not stop with rounders, however.

She plays for Bromsgrove Tennis Club’s Ladies A team in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer League Division One and is going on a hockey and netball tour of South Africa with her school RGS Worcester on Monday, July 17 until Thursday, August 3.

The former Alvechurch Middle School student will also defender her Torquay Open tennis singles title when the week-long tournament starts on Sunday, August 6 before commencing pre-season training with Aston Villa Ladies.
