VALIANT Bromsgrove Rovers AFC exited the Holder Cup at the quarter-final stage after suffering a 4-2 defeat against higher-division Galore, writes Neil Gordon.
Goals from Alex Hopper and Tom Clewes deservedly drew Bromsgrove level after Galore raced into a two-goal lead at Knightlow Road.
However, Galore struck twice more as Wahab Alijaser netted a hat-trick while Halane Salad added a fourth goal to deny Rovers AFC a place in the semi-finals.
Galore ply their trade one level above Bromsgrove in the Birmingham and District Football League Division One.
Rovers AFC have now exited each of the four cup competitions they entered this season, and the club to now concentrate on their pursuit of the Division Two title.
Galore broke the deadlock against the run of play on 17 minutes before the same player added a second soon after.
However, substitute Hopper halved the deficit for Bromsgrove in the closing stages of the first half.
And the Greens deservedly equalised after the break as Clewes headed home at the back post to finish off a fine move.
However, Alijaser completed his hat-trick on 72 minutes to restore Galore’s lead before Salad completed the scoring moments later.
Bromsgrove return to league action against Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons on Saturday, February 15 with kick-off at 2.30pm at Boldmere Road and admission free.
