TIM Flowers insists his Bromsgrove Sporting side must ‘keep grafting’ following a 2-0 defeat at high-flying Real Bedford in midweek.
Sporting have now failed to win any of their last eight league matches as goals from Josh Allen and Ben Stevens condemned the Rouslers to defeat at Ledger Stadium.
The result means Sporting sit 17th in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point above the relegation zone.
And Flowers admits there is still some fragility around the club with the Bromsgrove boss still awaiting his first league win since returning to the Victoria Ground.
Flowers said: “It was difficult to defend against a pretty outstanding team.
“They pass the ball like a Football League team and they’ve got some outstanding players.
“In the end, we’ve been done by two bits of basic defending that we haven’t done.
“We have to take it on the chin. I’ve got no qualms with the effort but I’ve got no qualms with the result either.
“The players are working hard and sticking together and not going under.
“There’s a fragility about the place which is the story of the season but we’ve got to keep grafting.
“It’s going to be tight down there [in the table] until the end of the season.”
Tim Flowers’ side fell behind on 32 minutes when Josh Setchell squared the ball across goal to Allen from the right who finished into an empty net from close range.
However, floodlight failure plunged half of the ground into darkness shortly before half time.
The floodlights eventually came back around half an hour later which led to more than 25 minutes of injury time at the end of first period.
And Bedford doubled their lead after the break on 55 minutes as Stevens controlled former Sporting midfielder Conor Tee’s cross and coolly found the net.
That came after Sporting played out a 1-1 draw against Bury Town last weekend.
Sporting trailed to George Quantrell’s goal only for Luke Benbow to earn a point for the Rouslers at Ram Meadow.
Bromsgrove are next in action against Barwell on Saturday, January 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
