KARTELL Dawkins scored a stunner as Bromsgrove Sporting secured their league status with a 2-0 home win against Barwell.
The Rouslers led through Prince Henry’s early goal before Dawkins scored a sensational second as Sporting eased to victory at the Victoria Ground.
And the result means Sporting remain 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table with one match left to play.
Prior to kick-off, Sporting captain Tom Taylor was presented with a special salver by Director of Football Graham Scott having made his 100th appearance for the club the previous weekend.
And the Rouslers took the lead on three minutes when Henry turned and fired the ball past Barwell goalkeeper Andrew Wycherley after Dawkins’ initial shot deflected into the scorer’s path.
The home side doubled their lead on 31 minutes as Dawkins opened his Sporting account in style with a thunderous strike from 25-yards as he ran onto a loose ball and lashed an effort into the top right corner.
Chances were few and far between in the second half as Sporting ended a run of seven games without a win to retain their Southern League Premier Central status.
Sporting finish the season away at Royston Town on Saturday, April 22 with kick-off at 3pm at Garden Walk.
