BROMSGROVE Sporting extended their unbeaten run in the league to six matches thanks to a narrow 1-0 win against St Ives Town at the Victoria Ground.
An own goal from Callum Milne on 29 minutes handed Sporting all three points.
And victory for the Rouslers means they are now 12th in the Southern League Premier Central table and are yet to lose in the league since Gavin Hurren took charge last month.
The home side started on the front foot when Josh Dugmore was denied by a smart save in the opening 10 minutes.
St Ives responded with a chance of their own when Rouslers goalkeeper Aaron Clayton made a fine stop to keep out Ethan Johnston’s effort.
Sporting’s Josh Quaynor, Will Shorrock and Nathan Hayward all went close before the deadlock was eventually broken just before the half hour mark.
Jamie Molyneux’s dangerous ball into the box was turned into his own net by Milne from close range.
Bromsgrove continued to dominate the first-half chances when Joe Willis shot narrowly wide from 20-yards out
There were few chances of note in the second period as persistent rain made for difficult conditions with Willis going closest to doubling Sporting’s lead.
And Rouslers stopper Clayton made one final save just before the hour mark to record his second clean sheet in as many matches.
Sporting are in action again tonight (Monday, December 13) as they travel to local rivals Redditch United with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Trico Stadium.
