SCOTT Adey-Linforth praised his side’s ‘grit and determination’ after Bromsgrove Sporting claimed an impressive 2-1 win away at play-off chasing Kettering Town.

A quickfire double from Reece King and debutant Jamie Soule put the Rouslers in command at the break before Ben Hart reduced the deficit early in the second half at Latimer Park.

The result leaves Sporting 15th in the Southern League Premier Central table, five points clear of the relegation zone.

And Adey-Linforth now wants his side to replicate their impressive form on the road back at the Victoria Ground.

Adey-Linforth said: “We were brilliant, we started the game so well, we stayed strong and after they scored we weathered it, it’s a great win.

“The lads have developed a real grit and determination, we controlled the game, we were itching to put it [the Leiston result] right.

“It’s a very good win, it’s a difficult place to come, it’s a tough pitch and a real hostile crowd.

“We’ve had a good run away from home, now the challenge for us is to try and find this level of performance back at home.

“Consistency is a big thing, we have to try and keep the levels of consistency in the performance and we won’t do far wrong.”

Sporting broke the deadlock on 24 minutes as King rose highest to head in Carter Lycett’s cross from the left at the back post from close range.

And the Rouslers doubled their lead two minutes later when Soule’s shot squirmed past Dan Jezeph after playing a neat one-two with Jamie Meddows.

Kettering went close at the other end with Aaron Roberts forced to clear Nile Ranger’s shot off the line.

However, the home side halved the deficit after the break on 55 minutes as Hart burst into the box and fired a low shot past Charlie Price.

Bromsgrove are next in action against Stamford on Saturday, February 1 with kick-off at 3pm at the Victoria Ground.
