SCOTT Adey-Linforth is seeking ‘consistency’ after securing his first win as permanent Bromsgrove Sporting manager against Royston Town.
Goals from Theo Robinson and Jamie Meddows sealed a 2-1 victory for the Rouslers at the Victoria Ground.
Sporting sit six points from safety in the Southern League Premier Central relegation zone and Adey-Linforth felt his players dug deep to come away with all three points.
Adey-Linforth said: “It’s a brilliant win, we knew we had to be on it and compete, we let them back into the game but it was a big shift from the lads in the second half.
“It was a great goal to win it and the boys dug in and managed to take us over the line. Everybody was needed, it was a real team effort.
“We’ve had a lot of illness in the camp so it’s a great win for everybody.
“The hardest thing to find in football is consistency, the performances we’ve had have been fairly consistent, we’ve just not got the points to show for it.”
Bromsgrove won a penalty on 17 minutes when Royston’s James Brighton tripped Aksum White in the box.
And veteran striker Robinson stepped up to send Tommy Dixon-Hodge the wrong way from the spot as he fired the resulting penalty into the left corner of the goal.
However, Royston drew level three minutes before half time as Sporting failed to deal with a ball in-behind the defence and Kian Harness nipped in to round Charlie Price and finish into an empty net.
Sporting reclaimed the lead in style on 57 minutes when Meddows received White’s pass 20-yards from goal and curled a fine effort into the bottom left corner.
Bromsgrove are next in action against Stratford Town on Saturday, December 21 with kick-off at 3pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
