SCOTT Adey-Linforth admits Bromsgrove Sporting’s mentality towards midweek fixtures must improve following a heavy home defeat against Quorn.
Sporting slumped to a 5-1 defeat at the Victoria Ground as Jaden Charles scored his first goal for the club in vain.
And Rouslers boss Scott Adey-Linforth admits he must address the club’s drop in performance levels in Tuesday night fixtures.
Adey-Linforth said: “It was a shambles. We were absolutely miles off it and I’m so disappointed. It’s unacceptable.
“We just didn’t look at it. It was one of the best counter-attacking performances I’ve seen from a team. They gave us a lesson.
“We just never got to grips with it and we looked so open defensively and so open when we had the ball.
“We were a million miles away. Consistency in the hardest thing in football. I got my team selection wrong.
“It’s no secret that our performance levels in Tuesday night games are lower.
“It’s a mentality thing. If you can’t go Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday then you shouldn’t be at the level.”
Sporting trailed by two goals at the break as Billy Kee and Simeon Cobourne both struck to leave the home side with a mountain to climb in the second half.
Quorn extended their lead early in the second period courtesy of Luke Cox’s header before Cobourne’s second of the game sealed the points for the visitors.
Recent Sporting signing Charles scored his first goal for the club to reduce the deficit only for Finn O’Boyle to complete the scoring for Quorn late on.
Bromsgrove are next in action against AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 29 with kick-off at 3pm at Brundon Lane.
